Climate change

The media assures that global warming is happening. Our fragile world is heating up, and its all our fault. Our dependence on fossil fuels has increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and our world is heating up as a result. But what does it all mean? And is it all really happening? During this course will deconstruct global climate change focusing from a number of angles. We will look at evidence for global warming, the effects of global warming, other factors - past and present - which have affected the Earth's climate, and what we as individuals and countries can do about global warming.

This is an 8 hour course.

Sleuthing through the scenery

As you set off on yet another beautiful walk, have you ever wandered why this walk is different and special relative to other walks? All around you are clues and by examining the evidence, the mystery can be solved. The answer lies in the varied geologic and geographical processes which have sculpted the landscape.

This 8 part course was originally set in and around Sydney, Australia, focusing on local bushwalks in different geological settings. This course can be adapted to local areas.

Introduction to web design

Many people now use the web as an indispensable source of information, and many also want to put up a website about their own special interest. Originally, this course was offered over 16 days, going into detail on using the Macromedia web design tools for people planning on making web design a career choice.

The course can be scaled down for 1-2 day introductions for entry level people.

How to surf the web

As a website manager, it is amazing how many people will call up with the most inane questions which the manager can only answer by surfing the web. This evening course gives an overview of effective surfing of the web, allowing you to be use the web effectively.

Using the web

This is an evening introduction into using your browser and the web effectively for retrieving and storing information. During the evening, you will learn how you can customise your browser (the secrets web designers don't want you to know!), bookmarking, effective searching, and free services on the web.
